I started Monkstown Montessori in September 1977 and have been at the Society of Friends Meeting House in Monkstown ever since then. The past 30 years have been a wonderful experience, each year watching children blossom, supporting parents, keeping in touch with past pupils and making great friends. This has all been enhanced by the lovely setting of the Meeting House.

The school is registered within the A.M.I. Association and is also registered by the Irish Montessori Education Board (I.M.E.B.), which is the authorised accrediting body of the Dept. of Education and Science.

The schoolroom is very large, bright and airy and offers a vey positive space in which the children can prosper. We strive to be a bridge between home and school, providing a warm, loving environment for the childrens first experience outside their home and family and a stimulating, nurturing, environment for their development.

There is an outside play area, which also offers plenty of oppurtunity for nature study – there is always time to listen to the birds singing, smell the flowers and study a passing snail or ladybird!!
